The College Chorale is a chorus of men’s and women’s voices, committed to presenting master works from the past and present with the goal of sharing the joy and power of choral music with audiences. The repertoire varies per semester allowing singers and audience an opportunity to rehearse and present a wide variety of musical and cultural styles, always maintaining a high standard of exhilarating, enriching and poignant performances.
The Chorale rehearses on Tuesday evenings in the Loretta C. Silvagni Recital Hall (room 147), Performing Arts Center and performs on the Main Theater stage. Participants should be enrolled in Music 160; the course is repeatable and fulfills the large ensemble requirement for college transfer.
The Women’s Chorale is a select treble chorus of women’s voices who rehearse and perform repertoire from medieval to contemporary musical periods and styles, focusing on “a cappella” performance. The women especially enjoy the enrichment of discovering new compositions and arrangement by women composers. Participants should be enrolled in Music 166.
